Workshop description: 

The workshop will introduce young people to the basics of public speaking, including body language, voice projection and effective presentation techniques. It will also provide some insights on how to organize the thoughts and ideas for effective communication. Last but not least the workshop will provide the opportunity to experiment with different speaking styles and techniques and to find their own authentic  manner of speaking.

 

Facilitator: Jon Kola

Mr. Jon Kola is currently a student of Law in the 5-year L.L.M. “Master of Laws” study program at the University of Tirana. Meanwhile, his academic/educational portfolio includes several courses aimed in International Law, Human Rights and also Political Sciences.

Accompanying the studies, his experience in the Civil Society sector is strong. His passion for diplomacy and international relations has pushed him to be part of different trainings, academies and conferences on local, regional and European policy making. As a politics enthusiast, Mr. Kola has been part of policy-making roundtables in order to manifest the needs of the Albanian youth to the politicians and experts.

During the period 2020-2022, Mr. Kola has been engaged with United Nations Youth Association Albania, an experience which increased his abilities of organizational work aiming at promoting the goals of the United Nations about the international system, by helping understand and implement the Sustainable Development Goals.

Currently, as a part of Beyond Barriers Association, he is working with other activists at the local level, running workshops while sharing his experience as a civil society activist. He has participated in various youth projects and has excellent communication skills, knows how to work in a team and as well has a multicultural background due to multiple Erasmus+ activities that he has taken part in.

Nevertheless, holding the positions of Policy Manager and Project Coordinator, his field of work in the organization is focused in Human Rights Education, Democracy Building and Active Participation through informing, educating and raising awareness about these topics among youth and adults through various pedagogical approaches.
