Workshop description:

The discussion aims to equip participants with critical thinking skills that can be used to identify and counter the spread of populism, propaganda, and hate speech. Through this discussion, participants will learn about the techniques employed by propagandists and hate speech proponents to manipulate public opinion, as well as the importance of resisting the influence of these tactics.

Facilitator: Azra Sorguč

My name is Azra Sorguč and I am a third-year student of International relations and Diplomacy at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As the President of the Association of Secondary School Students in BiH I had the privilege to work with secondary school students of different backgrounds from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and now, through the Organizing Bureau of European School Students (OBESSU) with European students as a Pool of Trainers member.

I have been a trainer since the beginning of secondary school and have lead and facilitated many trainings in my local community Visoko and across Bosnia and Herzegovina. My latest engagement with OBESSU led me to be one of the senior trainers at their Summer School: Nothing about us without us in Mollina, Spain (organized under the University of Youth and Development of the Council of Europe) where I trained and facilitated secondary school students from all over Europe in topics related to the revision of the Declaration of School Student Rights in Europe.
