ADI visit to Georgia

4.- 6.6.2025

From 4 to 6 June 2025, representatives of SAME visited Tbilisi, Georgia, to meet with the youth organisation DRONI and explore opportunities for future cooperation in youth participation, civic engagement, and solidarity-based action. The visit brought together actors with different organisational experiences and perspectives, creating a valuable exchange between SAME’s international practice and DRONI’s strong grassroots reality in Georgia. During the meetings, DRONI shared its work in youth participation, community-led mini-projects, peacebuilding, and non-formal education, as well as its experience of working with a large volunteer base and local partners. SAME introduced the Solidarity Action Day model as a practical way to combine youth-led action, local fundraising, and community involvement. A key output of the visit was a shared exploratory process around how the SAD model could fit into DRONI’s existing structure and values. A key outcome was the identification of a concrete basis for future cooperation and the recognition that DRONI could become a strong partner for further spreading solidarity-based youth action in the South Caucasus. The visit was especially relevant because it connected local Georgian practice with a wider European network of youth-led solidarity initiatives. What DRONI can take forward from this exchange is not only the knowledge of the SAD model itself, but also a potential pathway for adapting it to their own context in a way that strengthens youth ownership, practical engagement, and local impact. This activity was implemented by SAME – Solidarity Action Day Movement in Europe and financially supported through the 2025 Work Plan grant of the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.
