This workshop takes Erik Olin Wright’s book “How to be an anticapitalist in the 21st century” as a starting point to think about and discuss different forms of activism and ways of protest. In the first half of the workshop, participants will be introduced to Wright’s framework of strategies for social change (so there is no need to read the book beforehand). After this more theoretical part, we will think together about how to apply this framework to our own experiences as activists, students, professionals and active citizens. The workshop will not focus on one topic specifically but will look at activism from a more strategic bird's-eye view. The aim is to give participants a framework to use in their own activism and inspire them to combine different forms of resistance to initiate sustainable social change.
