Strenghthening connections with OD Norway

On 18 and 19 November 2025, the SAME Council Coordinator and a SAME Volunteer visited OD Norway in Oslo as part of a wider exchange with member organisations implementing the Solidarity Action Day in Scandinavia. The visit aimed to better understand how the model is implemented in Norway, learn from OD Norway’s long-standing experience, and explore how cooperation within the network can be further strengthened. During the visit, SAME representatives met with OD Norway’s staff, volunteers, and Board members, and also visited the organisation’s new office. These exchanges offered valuable insight into OD Norway’s internal structure, daily work, and the way they coordinate and implement Solidarity Action Day at national level. The visit also created space to better understand the projects supported through the funds raised by SAD, showing the broader social impact of the model in the Norwegian context. The main output of the visit was a stronger mutual understanding of how OD Norway works and what supports its long-term implementation of Solidarity Action Day. The main outcome was a strengthened relationship between SAME and OD Norway, as well as a clearer picture of how the network can better support member organisations by learning from their realities, experience, and challenges.
