From 16 to 19 June 2025, the SAME Board met in Lübeck, Germany, to work on strategic planning, internal coordination, and upcoming priorities for the network. The meeting brought together Board members, the Council Coordinator, and the SAME Office in a focused working space that connected governance, programme planning, and future organisational development.
A major part of the meeting was dedicated to preparing SAME’s strategic planning process for the period ahead. The Board discussed the timeline, key phases, and the importance of involving member organisations, partners, and other stakeholders in a transparent and meaningful way. At the same time, the group reflected on future Board education, support structures for different parts of the network, and the role of visits and documentation in improving accountability and connection across SAME. Key outputs of the meeting included the confirmation of the strategic planning timeline, agreement on alternating online and physical Board meetings, initial planning for member and potential organisation visits, and first ideas for improving governance tools ahead of the next General Assembly.
The Board also reviewed operational questions linked to Summer Camp, Act.ival, participant guidelines, and the need for clearer role boundaries during SAME activities. The meeting helped translate broad ambitions into more concrete internal processes. Its main outcome was stronger coordination between governance and implementation, as well as a clearer shared understanding of what SAME needs in order to grow in a more structured, responsible, and sustainable way.
