About the workshop:

Due to the climate crisis, millions of people will have to flee in the coming decades. Especially those who have contributed least to the climate crisis are forced to migrate. In this workshop, we will look at how racism and the climate crisis are connected in this climate-unjust system. After a short introduction, we will exchange with activists from Ende Gelände who were in Calais shortly before the Actival and drew attention to the struggles of refugees. They tell us about the background of their work and discuss with us what anti-racist activism can look like here. At the end, we will take a look at what we can actually do to make a difference on this big issue.

About the trainer: Johannes Domnick

Johannes is an activist with Ende Gelände and has been doing workshops for years because he believes that education is an important part of changing the world. With him are Ende Gelände activists who travelled to Calais in March to support the refugee camp on site and to draw attention to the situation of the people there from an anti-racist perspective. We are a broad coalition of people who all feel part of the climate justice movement. Together we are convinced that we have to take climate justice into our own hands and that we want to connect different struggles and send a visible signal for a change towards real climate justice with our civil disobedience actions.
